During the warmer, lighter months of the year, shed security is something which may need to be addressed by the country's householders, it has been suggested, which may interest those considering the use of
Window Blinds in their outbuildings.
According to Barclays, contents insurance could be adopted by shed owners in the near future, as these storage units can contain valuable items like gas barbecues, garden chairs and power tools.
The costs associated with replacing stolen items from sheds could be higher than people initially realise, the head of home, motor and travel insurance at Barclays, Shane Leivers, commented.
He added: "They should be extra vigilant to make sure that they lock any high-risk garden items away in a secure place such as a garage, as thefts are a particular problem in spring and summer."
The need for sheds to have strong locks was also recently highlighted by the price comparison site moneysupermarket.com.
