Those looking to remove dust from their Window Blinds during the spring clean of their house should use a damp cloth, one commentator has claimed.

Debra Johnson, training manager for the Merry Maids housecleaning company in Memphis, Tennessee, suggested to the Canadian Press that this beats a dry duster and other tools when it comes to making the window coverings look their best.

"Close plastic blinds and wipe with a damp cloth. Reverse the slats and clean the other side of the blinds with a clean, damp cloth," she said.

Ms Johnson also advised using a tool designed for blind cleaning to remove dirt from between the slats.

"For cloth blinds, use a vacuum attachment to remove dust and dirt," she added.

Earlier this month, Molly Maid's Paula Whitehorn told the Times Colonist that Mini Blinds can be overlooked by homeowners when they come to extensively dust parts of their properties.
