Consumers with window coverings such as
Vertical Blinds in their homes may wish to close them on particularly sunny days in order to prevent their interiors from overheating, it has been suggested.
Writing in an article for Tainted Green, Kathryn Robbins commented that direct sunlight could be tackled with the help of items like
Window Blinds and drapes.
She commented: "Sunshine that pours through your windows can raise the temperature of a room by 10-20 degrees; deploy your blinds before you leave for work for a cooler house in the evening."
For those who are hoping to try and conserve some water during periods of very warm weather, Ms Robbins also noted in her article that cost-effective rain barrels could be adopted by homeowners.
For consumers in the UK meanwhile, homeowners can also gain guidance about energy efficiency by accessing the Energy Saving Trust website, which outlines a number of tips.
