One of the biggest interior design trends at the moment is personalisation, an expert has claimed.
Natalie Perry, interior designer at Manchester-based firm NoChintz, said that people are creating "unique spaces" by adding their own personal touches to rooms.
She said that one thing people can do is modify existing items of furniture or soft furnishings, such as
Window Blinds, to suit their own tastes.
People with fabric window coverings, such as
Roman Blinds, could consider sewing on ribbon or a coloured trim to make them stand out as a key feature.
Ms Perry said that people looking to spend money on their bathrooms are being more driven by obtaining energy and water-saving products.
"This is all fuelled by the economic and political influences - energy price increases, taxes and awareness of CO2 emissions," she explained.
Earlier this month, another designer, Andrew Dunning, creative director at APD Interiors, told City A.M that light
Roman Blinds can be used to make a room feel more spacious.
