Many of the country's householders are still leaving expensive items within sight of their property's windows, new figures have shown, which may potentially put them at risk of burglary.

Roman Blinds users might be interested to note the findings of Ageas Insurance research, which suggest products worth an average sum of £1,223 could be seen through home windows at the moment.

Such items might include televisions and antiques, the organisation noted.

Ageas Insurance managing director Mark Cliff remarked that homes do not have to be empty for burglars to strike.

He stated: "An unlocked front door or window can be an open invitation to a burglar while the occupier is distracted by spending time in the garden."

Prior to the royal wedding between Prince William and long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton last week (April 29th), AXA warned the UK's householders about the potential risks of burglary that might arise due to them being away from their property.
