A number of younger people in the UK do not seem to possess basic home improvement skills at the moment, one commentator has suggested, in views which may interest those considering the installation of new Roller Blinds.

Jason Orme, editor at Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, believes that this is a disappointing trend to witness.

He stated: "I feel that in many ways that [the] 'make do and mend' approach, which really drove DIY back in the day, has died off."

DIY is something which people should be given more encouragement to try their hand at, Mr Orme went on to say.

However, at the present time, the busy working lives of younger people might make them less inclined to have a go at home improvements, he added.

It is a sensible option for people to prepare their properties for the winter period, the Saga Group's director general Dr Ros Altmann recently suggested.
