Window Blinds could play a part in people's sleeping habits, it has been suggested, with these coverings potentially making rooms darker.

Those thinking about buying a new set of Blackout Blinds may be interested to note the views of Dr Joti Samra, who has written in an article for the Globe and Mail that there are various steps which could enhance people's sleep.

The expert stated: "Create a pleasant environment for sleep. Get a comfortable pillow."

"Use blinds or heavy curtains to create a dark room. Turn off phone ringers," Dr Samra added.
