People with window coverings like Roller Blinds
might want to use such items as part of their festive home security plans, it has been suggested.
Speaking on the Tayside Police website, Colin Brough, Divisional Crime Prevention Officer, said the threat of window shopping thieves could be addressed with the help of properly set window coverings.
He stated: "Garden tools and ladders should be secured away and set blinds or curtains to deter 'window shopping'."
The police officer went on to say: "Most importantly, if you have an alarm, make sure you turn it on when you leave the house."
Areas of people's homes like garages and doors also need to be locked by crime-conscious householders this Christmas, he revealed on the police website.
Earlier in the month, Hiscox also suggested that Window Blinds
could play a role in putting off potential thieves this Christmas when consumers are not at home.
