According to moneysupermarket.com figures, cash could be spent on such projects by 16 per cent of those queried in its survey.
In the past, 21 per cent of people have also looked to borrow funds in order to pay for improvement work on their homes, the site's research additionally revealed.
Commenting on these trends, moneysupermarket.com head of loans and debt Tim Moss stated: "With the warmer weather arriving and TV full of DIY adverts, many people may be thinking about taking advantage of the extra holidays and lighter nights to make changes around their homes."
The royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton is due to offer people an extra bank holiday tomorrow (April 29th).
