In a bid to address heat loss, people who live in older properties might be able to make use of
Window Blinds, an expert suggests, in a development that could interest those who own
Panel Blinds.
According to John Sewell, the historic buildings architect at the Peak District National Park Authority, people should treat windows in a careful manner if their houses are of a certain age.
He commented: "Blinds or heavy curtains can almost halve the heat loss and, combined with shutters or secondary windows, they can provide better and cheaper insulation than double-glazing."
Insulation is another measure that such people may want to think about introducing to their houses, the expert went on to say.
The authority currently aims to enhance the Peak District's cultural heritage while ensuring that its natural beauty remains intact.
A combination of officers and members helps to make up the organisation at present.
